Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Hey guys! Sorry, activity has been a bit quiet here. To be honest I've been on Tumblr a lot as well as Facebook. But I told myself that after New Years I was going to be back on dA a lot more. Plus I'd start to comment on my fellow cosplayer's cosplays a bit more since I have the nasty habit of fav-ing and running.

I've recently started back on cosplay since I've gotten that itch. This March 15-17 is (Da da daaa!) Naka-Kon (Best Birthday Present Ever!) so I'm planning on bringing a few cosplays back as well as working on a few new ones. Thus far I'm planning on fixing up Poison Ivy, and Sephiroth (Nobuo Uematsu is a special guest this year!!). As well as making Season 3 Zuko from Avatar:The Last Airbender, and closet cosplaying Emma Swan from ABC's "Once Upon a Time". I'll say I'm about 10% with fixing up Sephy and Ivy, Zuko is about 20% done and Emma is about 90% done (All I need is the wig, I may get a new pair of jeans but I'm not sure). I'll probably post a few in progress/make-up pictures here and scrap them shortly there after.

I'm also hoping to have a few cosplay photo shoots sometime shortly after. Namely... A Sephiroth shoot in the snow. Thus far we have had a few pretty nice snows but it's kinda melted right afterwards. After Naka I'm very much considering bumping up Natasha Romanoff "Black Widow" (whom I planned on originally cosplaying for the Iron Man 3 Movie Premier) for A-Cen. But it's still very much a "maybe". I'm also looking into getting a different wig for my Castiel cosplay (which I also need pictures of) as well as my female!Castiel cosplay. I've also got a few other cosplays possibly planned but I'm going to wait to announce them I've 100% decided.
