Not gonna lie... Acen this year was probably up there as one of the most fun cons I've been too! But I'm getting ahead of myself here... Now for my usual con breakdown.

INSERT SOME CLEVER TRANSITION HERE

For me, the Acen journey started on Wednesday. The day before I had stayed up past three working on Poison Ivy (literally just started on the final project as right after making the mockup I had two big-ass projects and I caught a cold) so I was pretty out of it- and running only on caffeine- when Kayla came to get me after my one and only class. After the drive to her house we ran a few errands before hopping to work. I was pretty surprised I got Ivy finished in time (there are few things I may fix on her for A-fest) and Kayla got a ton done on Batgirl.

On Thursday we ran over to Malinda and Kyle's where we met up with them and Rodney, before meeting up with Abby, Jasmine, Liz, Dan, Dana, Kali, Traci, and Mike. After a few last minute errands, like running for food, we hopped in our cars for the trip to Rosemont IL. I have to say, compared to all of our Texas trips, it was actually pretty nice going up. It certainly didn't take as long, but we were all pretty damn exhausted when we finally made it to the hotel and after un-packing we all crashed pretty hard.

Friday-Day 1

After waking up, I got into Twilight Sparkle (I had decided to run around as her for the day) and I played around with everyone else in their Yu Yu Hakusho group (which I think I'm gonna join as Yoko Kurama one day ). We wondered around the dealers room, and hit up the Yu Yu Shoot. Some time afterwards Kayla, Dana, Tracie, and Liz decided to join me as ponies for the My Little Pony shoot that day...

... Not gonna lie. I both enjoyed and hated the shoot. There were quite a few fun people there but... There was one guy with gauges who annoyed the hell out of me being a rude douchebag (... I don't even want to get into what he was saying, >.>), and then there was this Pinkie Pie in a Gala Dress who shoved Traci when it was a Pinkie Pie shot as well as nearly stepped on Dana!! >.<

It was getting a bit too much for us so we left a bit early (to that other Twilight- I am SO SORRY I DITCHED YOU!! But I really had to go! It was getting insane!!).

We hung out a bit before heading back, eating, and crashing.

Saturday- Day 2

As soon as I woke up I hopped into Orgy Roxas and Wondered around with Kyle, Malinda, Rory, and our friend from Arda- Christina. They were all Birth By Sleep where as I was a bit of a lone Organization Member but it was still a lot of fun. We also went to the KH shoot for a bit before deciding that it was a bit much so we headed out.

Right after, we all wondered over to the dealers room in order to meet Little Kuriboh who was there selling T-shirts for his shop!! I have to say he's a pretty nice and down to earth guy. He let me film him a bit on the Cass Cam files as well as take a few pictures of him which I'm gonna upload to Facebook soon. After a bit, I headed back to join our Batman Group

I have to admit, as Ivy was so last minute I wasn't really sure how she'd look. Needless to say I was pretty surprised that it looked better than I though it would. I was even stopped by an amazing fellow Poison Ivy cosplayer who asked for a hug. I also have to admit that running around as Ivy was probably my fave part of A-cen. I think I may have to bring her out to a few more cons, before winter. I also have some ideas as to what I want to add and fix on this cosplay (I also thinking about maybe doing different versions since Ivy is never consistent even in the comic books). I also had WAAAY too much fun with my fellow Batman group which consisted of "Harley-Quinn", "Catwoman", "Batgirl", "Scarecrow" and "Robin".  

After a long while we went back to the hotel and I changed back into Twilight for a bit. We wondered around the con, both in the sky-walk (especially after the Hyatt had their fire alarm pulled), and in the Hyatt as well. We met up with a few good friends, saw a few awesome cosplayers, was wow-ed by this awesome magician (which I caught on camera!!) and just generally goofed around until heading back to the hotel room.

There we ordered a food as we were all pretty tired of sandwiches, ramen, and spaghetti- o's. And after showers, and packing we all crashed.

Sunday-Day 3-The Last day

After waking up and decided to kill the last of the Go-gurt and fruit. Liz, Kyle, Malinda, Tracie, and I wondered to the dealer's room for one last run- and to see the giant chalk artwork-  before packing up the cars and hitting the road. Before we left Chicago all together, we stopped at Mitsuwa Marketplace- this little Japanese market where they sold LEGIT food like curry and ramen. I seriously don't think I'm gonna be able to stand cup ramen after that. It was just SOO GOOD!! ^^

We had a bit of trouble on the way back though as we were all following our respective GPS' and all three decided to take us all different ways but we all made it back to Abby, Jasmine, Liz, Dan, and Dana's place okay. After that, Kayla gave me a ride back and I crashed pretty hard.

To be honest, I think I'm half-way caught up on sleep but I'm not too worried at the moment. XDD

The Verdict

The only problem I really had at Acen was the idiots as the MLP Photoshoot that Friday, and the cold (which was not nearly as bad as Naka kon but still a bit of an irritant). I met a lot of nice people, met up with a few friends I hadn't seen in ever (you know who you are!), got some awesome stuff, and just had fun in general.

For me, this year's Acen is right up there with my very first A-fest. It was a ton of fun, and although I didn't really do much at the con what I did do I enjoyed. I'm not gonna blame the con for the idiots cause... let's face it they exist.

As I told my friends: "If you're looking for any takers for next year sign me up" . I'll also be willing to take pictures of cosplays like Poison Ivy as next year they are penciled in for May.

I also had alot of fun with the slow-cam guy. He both filmed us in our KH group, and later in our Batman group! I can't wait to see his final product and I'll be sure to post it as well as the Cass Cam Vid's of this con and Naka Kon (which I promise I'll work on during Finals in two weeks! I have a ton of major projects and paper's until then). Also if you caught pictures of us feel free to post me a link!

END OF CON JOURNAL

Well, I probably should hop onto that homework pile of mine. Hard to believe in around two to three weeks I'm gonna say goodbye to the dorms here and hello to the life of a college graduate.

I still plan on working on cosplay of course, and I may start posting tutorial videos this summer. I also have a few cosplays I'm pretty exicted about. Like re-working Ventus, a secret cosplay, Belle from Once Upon a Time (for the Ren Faire), and possibly a Princess Wildberry Ginjika. This time around I PROMISE I'll post progress pictures on Facebook. I also am looking into doing a few "just for kicks" closet cosplays but I'll hollar when they are done. It's also after this summer I plan on re-vamping a bit more and working on new stuff a bit less. So after Ventus and Luke Fon Fabre who do you guys think I should bring out from the old closet?
